Joan Hendrickson for Darien's Town Treasurer
Meet Joan:
Joan has lived in Darien for 37 years. She has been efficiently serving our town as Treasurer since 2005 and she is running for reelection. She is married to her husband Paul and has one child Robert, who graduated from Darien High School. She is a graduate of Simmons College (BA with distinction) and Wake Forest University (MBA, First Union Scholar).
Joan has a 47 year finance career in Corporate Banking, Financial Services, and Consulting including a variety of positions at Daimler Benz Financial Services. Joan was a Senior Manager, Global Credit Risk Management, head of Strategy, U.S. Acquisitions & New Business; U.S. Construction and Industrial Manager, and Medical Lending Manager. Former Darien RTM member (12 years), Darien Republican Town Committee member, Darien Nature Center Board Member, Darien High School PAC, Holmes PTO, Middlesex PA, DHS PA, President of Fairfield County Simmons Club

Current member of an Advisory Investment committee, advising a religious organization on endowment funds investments.

Current member of an Endowed Scholarship Committee, based in Western Massachusetts, awarding need-based scholarships to worthy young people who wish to attend college. This Scholarship Committee was started by my family 78 years ago and is responsible for supporting hundreds of students in their dreams for a college education.
