Gregory Grambling for Darien's Board of Education
Meet Gregory "Greg":
Greg grew up in Darien alongside his three brothers and returned in 2014. With seven Grambling children attending the Darien public school system this year, including three of his own, Greg has a vested interest in ensuring that current and future students get the same educational opportunity that he did. Greg has been surrounded by amazing teachers his whole life, which further fuels his interest in giving back through community service. His mother taught at Middlesex Middle School for 25 years, and his wife taught at The King School in Stamford, CT, and Sacred Heart in New York City before they had children.

Greg has played an active role in several key Board of Education issues over the past few years, including returning students to in-person learning 5 days per week in 2021 and working closely with current and past members of the Board. As a current member of the Darien RTM and has advised and served on several other boards, including the UVA SEAS Entrepreneurship Advisory Board and Sonic Insurance Advisory Council, Greg brings a combination of teamwork, problem-solving, and collaborative negotiating skills to the Board of Education. Greg plans to work closely with his running mate and current Board of Education member, Dennis Maroney, to further align the priorities of the community with school faculty and staff.
About Greg:
Greg was born and raised in Darien, Ct. He and his wife, Katherine, have been married since 2010 and have resided in Darien since 2014. They have three children, Samantha, Hunter, and Natalie. Greg attended the University of Virginia, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science. After University, Greg maintained a nearly 20-year career in Investment Banking providing advisory services to public and private clients related to mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital raising. During his Investment Banking career, he spent 5 years at JPMorgan, 8 years at Sagent Advisors, and 7 years at PJ Solomon. Currently, he is Chief Financial Officer at Guernsey Holdings, one of the largest multi-brand franchisee holding companies in the country. Greg is also a CFA Charterholder.

Greg loves spending time with his family, especially coaching and watching his kids play soccer, lacrosse, football, and basketball.

Greg loves food, especially pizza, and holds the record for the number of slices eaten during the Taste of New Haven Pizza Lovers Tour (23 slices)

Greg has run 6 marathons, 3 half triathlons, and 1 full triathlon and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

Porter, as in a porterhouse steak, is an Australian Labradoodle and was added as the newest member of the Grambling family earlier this year
