Jamie Zionic biophoto.jpg

Meet Jamie:

Jamie has happily called Darien home for the last 13 years, after moving from Chicago where she was a Real Estate Agent and Broker for over 10 years. Jamie strongly supports the Town of Darien’s Plan of Conservation and Development and believes Planning and Zoning decisions should remain with each local municipality and their guiding planning documents.

Jamie was born in Illinois where she lived until moving to Darien in 2010, with a brief stop in Manhattan en route. Jamie has 4 children, two attending Holmes Elementary School and two attending Middlesex Middle School.

Jamie graduated from the University of Illinois, with a BFA in Art and Art History where her studies focused on the history of architecture and urban planning. She is currently the Co-Founder of Project Buddy Up, a charitable organization where she has partnered with Darien Parks and Recreation, Darien YMCA, and Darien After School to make town programs accessible to all children who choose to participate.

Jamie has been involved in many town, school, and state committees and advisory groups. Much of her volunteer service has involved improving the delivery of support services to those students in Darien with disabilities, including the following:

  • Co-Founder, Project Buddy Up (2021-present)

  • Co-Chairperson, Darien Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (2016-2023)

  • Member, Connecticut Parent Leader Roundtable (2020-2023)

  • Member, Connecticut State Performance Planning Committee (2021-2022)

  • Member, Connecticut Annual Performance Report Committee (2021-2022)

  • Member, Darien Public Schools Strategic Planning Committee (2020)

  • Member, Darien Public Schools Technology Steering Committee (2019)

  • Special Education Representative, Council of Darien School Parents (2017-2019)

  • Jamie spent a year as a volunteer assistant teacher at the Children’s Storefront, a tuition-free elementary school in Harlem.
