The Darien Republican Town Committee (RTC) wishes to announce that their 2024-2026 RTC nominating season has begun. Every two years, the RTC begins the iterative process of interviewing those Republican electors in the town who may wish to serve or may wish to continue to serve on the Darien Republican Town Committee for the next two year term. This week, per their rules, the Darien RTC announced the nine member 2023 Nominating Committee who will conduct the formal interviews of those individuals who wish to serve upon the 2024-2026 Darien RTC. The 2023 Nominating Committee will conduct interviews in the month of December and any interested Darien Republicans should send their application to Nominating Committee member, Alex Davidson, at the following email account: rtcnominating2023@gmail.com.
Please prepare to have all applications submitted to the Nominating Committee as soon as possible, but no later than Friday, December 15th, 2023 to ensure the committee will have time to interview you. Applications are available here: https://www.darienrepublicans.com/get-involved
The Darien Republican Town Committee’s mission is to recruit and support qualified, competent candidates for elected and appointed positions who firmly believe that ALL Darien residents are best served by a transparent, accountable, responsive and fiscally prudent government.
While the State of Connecticut has become a case study in fiscal mismanagement after decades of Democratic Party control, Republican leadership in Darien has continued to maintain low taxes while supporting one of the best school systems in the country, sustaining a high quality of life for its residents and providing for our seniors. The Darien Republican Town Committee serves a critical role in continuing that tradition of prudent and competent leadership locally, while seeking to foster that same kind of leadership in Hartford and Washington, DC.
Additional roles and responsibilities performed by Darien Republicans:
Recruit and recommend registered Republican and unaffiliated voters for appointive offices on local boards and commissions;
Recruit and endorse Republicans to run for local and state elective offices;
Campaign on behalf of local, state and federal candidates;
Study and recommend improvements in the form of local government;
Study and support (or oppose) local, state and federal legislation of concern to Darien;
Sponsor and encourage constructive party activities; and
Raise and administer funds for local, state and federal campaigns, the Darien Republican Town Committee, the Connecticut State Republican Committee, and administer party funds.
